Since then, my journey and education in Horticulture has prompted an evolving commitment to challenging the scope of conventional land-care practices. My fascination with regenerative farming and herbal medicine expanded and led me to pursue a certificate in Holistic Nutrition and an ongoing study of Permaculture Design. With a degree and background founded in collaborative initiatives for alternative education, resource management and conservation, I migrated to the West Coast with the intention of exploring and learning about its abundant beauty. Since 2016, myself and my incredibly talented co-creator Jordie Bulpit have developed a service that truly demonstrates this value-added approach to business. In my opinion, this is the foundation for community resilience and longevity. Growing up in small-town Quebec with a family-owned business has certainly defined my dedication to supporting and sourcing locally. Over the last 7 years I have had the amazing opportunity to work closely with a variety of community members including non-profits, school groups, homeowners, strata councils, developers, and last but definitely not least, our inspirational SOLscapes crew! I consider myself incredibly lucky to have ended up working in the field I am most passionate about with my SOLsister Stephanie Vigneux In the past, I held the position of lead hand gardener at Grouse Mountain Resorts, attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Horticultural Technician Program, worked for Vancouver-based organic landscaping company “My Living Canvas” as well as Garibaldi Nursery, volunteered/worked for “Good Time Farming” (organic farmers in Squamish), attended a Permaculture Design course, and experimented in my own growing spaces. The following horticultural experiences eventually led me to embark on the entrepreneurial journey and start SOLscapes 7 years ago. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have ended up working in the field I am most passionate about with one of the most amazingly knowledgeable, inspiring and kind people I have ever met my SOLsister Stephanie Vigneux!Īs someone who grew up in Squamish, being a part of this small town blossoming into a diverse community-orientated city, has and continues to be an amazing experience and honour. My passion is growing food… and showing everyone that you can have a beautifully ornamental landscape that is edible! My spare time is spent playing in the woods, on the water, and in a variety of gardens.
